Event Logo Project: Bridgestone World Solar Challenge

This project was apart of my introduction to Graphic Design course at Oakland Community College. We were asked to design a logo for an event in a physical medium. I chose to make a design for the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge, described by Bridgestone as "the world's premier solar car event."

My approach to this logo was to draw on a classic 40s-60s car badge designs, with their strong overlapping shapes. The horizon design and colors on either side of the badge were inspired by the event's course, tracking three thousand kilometers of Highway 1 through the Australian outback.
